2011/2012 is the second year in the life of the Chincoteague Home Concert Series.  Our purpose is to provide a home theater where the artists have the ability to interact closely with the audience and the freedom to evolve and grow in their chosen discipline.  Home concerts have become more popular in recent years offering a new way for musicians to engage the public.  Our guest artists vary in style from vocal jazz to classical music.  

Several local organizations currently coordinate a variety of concerts on Chincoteague Island, which are normally held in the spring, summer and the fall.  The Chincoteague Home Concert Series will occur in late fall to early spring and is the first home concert series sponsored on Chincoteague. 

Our home on the island faces west to Chincoteague Bay and offers an unusual background and setting for the concerts.  We offer accommodations to the artists as well as provide for their meals.  Contributions in the form of cash or check at the door are accepted from the audience, 100% of which goes to the artists.

We want to thank contributors and attendees as well as those who help in the preparation and presentation of the concerts.

In future years we plan to expand the program to include topics ranging from poetry readings to lectures on history and the arts as well as a continuation of the musical program.  For the 2012/2013 season the theme of the recitals and performances will be "Women In Music".  For those interested in planning ahead the schedule will always run from December to March so as to avoid conflicts with other Island based programs. 

Our friends and neighbors know we love to entertain.  We look upon the home concert series as a means to continue this effort, but also to open our doors to artists both local and national.  It is our hope that our personal invitations will meet with support in order to maintain and continue the home concert series.
