Chincoteague Home Concerts

Chincoteague Island is located off the coast of the Delmarva Peninsula and is noted for its low key life style and America's Best Beach Town.  Events to satisfy one's interest in the arts and artists are celebrated throughout the year, but especially in the summer months.  A variety of concerts and cultural events sponsored by the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance, 2nd Saturday Art Stroll and Music, Seafood, Arts and Craft Festivals are held throughout the spring and summer.  The Chincoteague Home Concert Series , which is held in our home on the bay, is meant to complement the above running from the late fall to early spring featuring a broad range of music from around the world. Styles range from classical and jazz to rockin' blues and folk.  In future years we plan to sponsor poetry readings and lectures on history and the arts.  All styles of music and artists are represented.

All contributions are given to the artist at the time of the concert.  A minimum contribution of $20-25/person/concert is requested.  If you can contribute more, please do.  The seating is limited to 35-40 seats.  Reservations for the entire season series will be accepted, however contributions for each reservation are made at the door for each concert. Chincoteague Home Concerts assumes the cost of providing lodging and meals for the artists as well as homemade refreshments for each concert during the intermission.

For invaluable help in presenting the series we wish to pay special thanks to Jon and Jane Richstein of Sundial Books on Chincotegaue, Robin Rothschild of the full album WCTG 96.5 FM station on Chincoteague and to Pete and Lora Seeley, Claire Hunkins, Glenn Aldinger and Scott and Susy Norris for doing the heavy lifting!  It takes an island to present a series and we hope you will support the artists throughout this season.

The official greeters include Gus and Emily...

Without volunteers the concert series could never occur. Come and enjoy the sunsets, good food and most of all good music and new friends.
